About
Dr Alexander graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2006, after completing a Bachelor of Science (Medicine), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. Following completion of her Internship and Residency, Dr Alexander completed 18 months of specialist training with the Royal Australian College of Anaesthetists, prior to undertaking 4 years of rigorous Dermatology specialist training, finishing in early 2015.
Dr Alexander has trained and worked in Dermatology Departments in a number of major teaching hospitals in Sydney, including at St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospital, as well as a number of rural and regional locations.
Dr Alexander enjoys teaching, and continues to be involved in medical education through the regular teaching of Dermatology Registrars and Medical students. In 2012, she was awarded Best Registrar Teacher at St Vincent’s Hospital by the University of New South Wales. Dr Alexander has been published in peer reviewed journals, including the Australasian Journal of Dermatology. She was awarded Best Registrar Presentation at the Australasian College of Dermatology Annual Scientific meeting, in 2011.
Originally from Moree, Penny attended high school in Armidale. When not at work, Penny enjoys walking her two very spoilt Boston terriers, and wrangling her three small children.
